Day 14

Today the operation was given apparently some 10 more days for the Israeli army to get to some victory whatsoever to have a political price for it (this is the solution to the violence that Rice has finally got). Rice was not very good at making peace as much as she was good in prophesizing this terrifying New Middle East. Personally I think I prefer the old one.

Battles are still on near the frontiers. And massacres are still on more to the north; 2 families were killed in Nabatyeh today. Otherwise the Suburbs had a new aerial visit today; some 8 3ton-missiles were dropped over the area, very heavy sound by the way.

Otherwise on a less humanitarian level I saw today pictures from the Lebanese coast – from south of Beirut to the utmost north of the country: A thick layer of black oil caused by the disastrous raids and the destruction of most of the oil supplies in the country (also non-Hezbollah related structures) have left an environmental disaster in the whole coastline. There is no beach anymore not only in Beirut but also in Lebanon. For me, someone who sees his country as the country of the sea I see it as a war crime, actually more than that (the term war crime is a paradox in itself), it is a crime against nature and against life and beauty. Basically the country is ruined, even its nature is destroyed, no more beautiful coats, no more swimming in the Mediterranean no more beach parties, no more summer, no more Lebanon. The beautiful coast of Byblos, one of the most beautiful sights in the Mediterranean is now a black sea of oil and pollution. By the way the Hezbollah don’t usually swim that much.

Beirut is now overpopulated, the center of the city grew from a nearly half a million people to one million in a week. There is a minimum of 700 000 refugees in a country of 4 million inhabitants, this is nearly a quarter of the country. Many of them will have no more house to get back to after the war is over, if it ever ends, since most of them live in the southern suburbs which do not exist anymore.

They are loughing at us once again...!!!!Rice and other politicians are now weeping crocodile tears over Lebanon's misfortune...What an emotional moment!!!!She declared that she wouldn't expect that such huge humanitarian catastrophy has been taking place in Lebanon...and that she is seriously worried for the situation under which the Lebanese population has been. Really? Couldn't she realised it when she was in the U.S. and stop it at the beginning, whereas everyone in this world even under the most extreme media propaganda can see it as apparent? She could even use the pictures taken from one of her many satellites that go around this planet which are capable of watching me in my toillet!I suspect that she rather tried hard and finally succeded to bring the situation that best suits to her plans. Anyway, Ok! She says NOW (after so many days of death and destruction) that firing has to be stopped...But only under the circumsatnces that actually the Israelian side has imposed. Very Democratic and just!!!
However she does not say a very prominent thing! That is the initial long term plan of US, Israel and subsequently E.U, before the beginning of this war was the day by day and year by year destruction of Palestine state and every bartizan of enemy forces (like Hezbollah) and voices (like Lebaneze)throughout the middle east region!
You don't have to be so smart to realise it, but SSSSSHHHHHH the world is sleeping...Don't wake them up!

Fun with Facts and Figures

1. Arab minority is a bit less than 20% with only 9 (less than 8%) Kenesset members. Also, less than appropriate number of women, and even worse, uneven distribution of funds between the arab and jewish population on the local level. But give us some time, and we'll get there.
2. Hezbollah has bombed Israeli citizens many times before, and actually, as a distraction when kidnapping and killing the soldiers two weeks ago.
3.Even if the declared goal Hezbollah was prisoner exchange, that does not mean that it is acceptable to the other side. Proportion is not a sought after objective - quite the opposite.
4. I am unaware of the Al-Jazeera incident you mentioned, and I will look it up. All I know is that the correspondent that is broadcasting from Israel has amazing Hebrew.
